First Doctor's Appointment and Meeting Some Relatives

Grace had her first doctor's appointment today. She's a little jaundiced but it's manageable. We bring her back tomorrow morning for another test.

First Day Home

Grace came home from the hospital a couple hours ago.

Here she is in her first real outfit.


I forgot to mention earlier, someone, I think it was Scott (BUT APPARENTLY IT WAS CATHERINE), noticed that we were staying in the Kris Kringel room.


An historic first meeting.

Well that was quick

We weren't due until April 16th, but proving once again that the baby is mine, Grace MacKenzie Funke arrived 3 weeks early. Labor was mercifully short (we left for the hospital around 4:00 am and the baby was kind enough to bless us with her presence around 1:00 pm (you probably thought I was going to say GRACE us with her presence but that would be cheesy and not very funny). For those of you still waiting on babies of your own who are probably wondering what the birthing process is like I can tell you first hand that it's not easy. My arm is still a little sore from holding one of Lisa's legs for a couple of hours and for a while there my throat was getting a little dry but I couldn't go out for any water. Also, the cable package in the hospital is not very good, and my eggs this morning were a little runny. I'd stick with the cold sandwiches if you really need to eat hospital cafeteria food.
