Busy Days

After the apple orchard, Grace and Mom made an apple casserole kind of thing that I'm sure has a name but I'm not going upstairs to ask.

Apple Picking

The weather was nice and someone took a good nap today so we went apple picking at Heinz Orchard this afternoon. Right now, Grace and mom are upstairs making applesauce.

Ralph Covert and Laurie Keller Book Signing

While dad was home sick with some kind of stomach thing today, Grace and mom drove down to the Naperville area to hang out at the Morton Arboretum and go to Anderson's Bookstore for a Ralph Covert and Laurie Keller book signing. Ralph sang a few songs before signing books and taking pictures.

Labor Day at the Dog Park

No school for the Funkes today so we took Jake to the dog park, something we hadn't done in a while since Dad was sporting a sprained ankle most of the summer.

Artwork

Grace has been bringing home artwork every day from school. Here's some of what she's done...



She was very excited to find a letter E on this one since it's part of her name. Unfortunately, I think the scanner cut it off.
I don't remember what she said this one was.

This one is mommy and daddy and Grace but it scanned upside down and it's late and I'm lazy so you'll just have to turn your head.
Also upside down but this one is lemonade.

At Baba and Papa's

Mom and Grace spent a couple of days at Baba and Papa's house where they made s'mores and went to the zoo.
