You can't have Thanksgiving without turkey. That's like Fourth of July without apple pie, or Friday with no two pizzas.

This night my mind was filled with Halloween - there was to be a pageant representing our county's agricultural products; I was to be a ham.

Grace had a busy week getting ready for Halloween.

Today she visited Mom at school for their Halloween celebration and parade.

Then she went trick or treating with Mom and Dad.

Yesterday, she had a party with all of her friends from her playgroup.

On Sunday, we too her to the botanical gardens to see the model trains all decorated for Halloween.

Lisa and Catherine took the girls to a Halloween festival in Highland Park last week after school.

The rain on my car is a baptism, the new me, Ice Man, Power Lloyd, my assault on the world begins now.

Grace was baptized this morning at Dad's church.

A Visit From Great Grandma

Grace's Great Grandma came to town for a visit and we all got together for dinner on Saturday night.

We took Grace back to the pumpkin Farm again with Paul, Amy and Kaitlyn on an unseasonably hotter than **** October afternoon. The Libertyville Pumpkinfest was a bust with no petting zoo or hayride and the pumpkin farm had a field trip of rowdy kids take over the place along with a princess party. It was also hot and sticky and Paul declared himself Sunlord163 because Lisa and I could not take the heat as well as he did.

Neither are my teeth, but I can still eat corn on the cob, if someone cuts it off and smushes it into a fine paste. Now that's good eatin'!

If we had found this ride a little earlier in the day, she probably would have gone on a few more times.

At one point she was ringing the bell and steering at the same time.

This was hands down, her favorite part of the day.  I think Heidi and I took turns going up and down the stairs with her about 50 times while Mom and Tony rode the Eagle next door.

Uncle Tony had a couple extra tickets to Great America for a special event through his office so we took Grace there for the first time.  She had a blast and wore us out.

This was probably her second favorite thing to do.  We let her ride it twice and she figured out how to work the lever that makes the bee go up pretty quickly.  As you can see, it was pretty late and she was the only one on the ride.

We took one last ride on the merry go round before leaving the park.

She didn't like this one so much.  It was bumpy and she kept hitting her head on the back of the seat.  The operator had to stop the ride so we could take her off.

Riding the camel on the merry go round was the first thing we did while mom and Tony ran off to ride some roller coasters.  Aunt Heidi and dad are too wimpy to go on most of them.
